
Before accessing the curriculum training, please acquaint yourself with the following terms:

- Failure to attend the training, despite payment, will require re-registration for future sessions.

• Follow the rules and guidelines for keeping food safe in assisted living facilities.
• Understand how diseases can spread in places where people live closely together.
• Learn simple ways to stop infections, like washing hands and keeping things clean.
• Learn about common illnesses in older people and how to prevent them.
• Follow the rules and steps to keep infections from spreading in assisted living.
Lecture 3: Emergency Disaster Planning
• Make plans for what to do if something bad happens.
• Know what everyone's job is during an emergency.
• Practice getting everyone to safety and finding a safe place to stay.
• Keep everyone informed and calm during scary times.
• Learn how to stop fires before they start.
• Know how to use things like fire extinguishers and alarms to stay safe.
• Practice getting out of the building quickly and safely if there's a fire.
• Make sure everything in the building is safe and meets the rules.
Lecture 5: Psycho-Social Needs of the Elderly
• Understand that older people might feel lonely or sad sometimes.
• Learn how to help them feel better and enjoy life.
• Talk to older people kindly and help them when they need it.
• Make sure everyone feels included and cared for in the assisted living community.
